How are you feeling?
Really?
I want to know.
Not the casual, “Hi, How are you?”
“fine”
I want to know how you are FEELING, as in what emotion are you feeling?
And, what does that feel like in your body?
I actually do care how you are.
And I’m here to listen.
Feelings are my specialty.
And I’m here to give you permission to feel
permission to feel anything you are feeling right in this moment.
We’ve been taught as a society to suppress our emotions and to be “fine” or “happy” all the time.
But, just for this moment, I give you the time and space and freedom to pause and feel whatever it is you are feeling.
What is it?
I’m feeling rushed. It feels hot and tight in my cheeks, jaw, shoulders and neck, my heart is beating faster and my breath is shallow, small pressing in my chest.
I’m also excited. I go back and forth between the two. It’s expanding and open, still a bit tight, moving me to get ready, still heart beating fast, similar
