Where have I been?

What started as a 2 week break turned into 2 months.

I intentionally planned to be off Instagram and be present while traveling, but then I realized I really wanted to fully focus on my family during this big life transition for us.

During the last couple weeks we moved out my 18 year old to college, welcomed home our missionary daughter and 5 days later moved her out to college as well.

This leaves us with only 1 daughter left at home! Such a big change!

It’s full of excitement for the girls and sadness for the hole it leaves in our home.

I’ve been doing exercises for my shoulder for a couple months, but in July it got a lot worse and froze up. I had to start 20 plus hours a week of physical therapy to regain mobility.

Just when I thought I’d be coming back to Instagram, I needed to spend my time painfully working on my shoulder, helping my daughter recover from surgery and preparing to move out. I have also had an increase in headaches and migraines the last couple months, so this was a good chance to figure that out again.

I’m so grateful for the time we’ve had together and the relationships with my girls. They are my joy and dearest friends and inspire me daily.

Many friends and clients of mine are saying that they are exhausted and stressed trying to do homeschool or online school.

As I’ve learned this summer, when I added physical therapy to my life, something else had to go.

What will you let go of to stay balanced and sane? To keep your bucket filled?

Are you running faster than humanly possible?

Pause and take a few deep breaths and ask yourself what really fits in your day and if you are accepting your reality or trying to live a fantasy.

I give you permission to set anything aside that doesn’t help you feel balance, joy or connection or whatever emotions you choose to feel.
